1) Learn the trick/illusion completely, 100%

Watch the DVD or read over the instructions for the trick twice over. You will learn things you missed the first time. If possible, go back and watch the performance in slow motion. Watch the magicians hands for the move your being taught. If your a beginner, don’t get cocky thinking you can perform the trick for the first time right out the box. Pro magicians practice to!

2) Practice!

Practice makes perfect. Those three words are everything you need when doing your trick over and over again in front of a mirror. If your performing a big illusion, something dangerous, make sure all things are accounted for! You getting hurt is a bad, especially performing live. If it will be dangerous make sure the proper precautions are taken. But if your performing a simple trick. Do it for your close friends and family first. People who won’t judge if something goes wrong!

4) Have confidence when performing for the first time.

Now a days people are more visually aware! Sometimes they will pay more attention to you rather than the trick. So be confident when performing. If you look nervous or think nervous thoughts, chances are your going to mess up. But if you think positive and mentally talk your self through the two minuets it’s going to take to perform this trick, you’ll come out fine and people will notice that!

5)Believe your magic is real.

If you don’t believe what your performing is real, no one will. Make people believe in magic. Using words to describe what your doing or the way you sway your voice while performing. People will be pulled in to your “magical” ways and believe that what they are seeing is actually real.
